Step 1 - Understand your preferences
1. What kind of style do you like? What type of “Log look?”
2. What kind of log profile do you prefer?
3. What kind of corners do you prefer?
4. Will you want "chinking" or not?
5. Do you prefer hand-drawn, hand-hewn, or smooth face?
Step 2 - Look at as many floor plans as you can
We advise that you go through as many existing floor plans as you can. It does not matter if they are frame, brick or log.
You should be looking for a layout and floor plan that gets as close as possible to what you need and love.
Once you have found one – copy and send a copy of the floor plans to us with your own notes. Ensure to provide your notes and ideas on the floor plans.
Don’t worry about your artistic ability … just send it – we will work with it.
Step 3 – Work with us to schedule live teleconference
Contact your U.S. Log & Timber Home Expert or reach out to us via our "Contact Us" form, and we will schedule a design session with you.
Once a meeting is set, we will cover your specific design over a teleconference between you and our team.
We will collectively go over what changes and ideas you have and you will instantaneously see notations being made on your floor plan.
This may take several sessions, but when this phase is completed, U.S. Log & Timber will create a finished version of the floor plan for you.
